Our shower has been draining very slowly lately, to the point where we have to take VERY short showers. Which isn't such a bad thing, but it's like turn on the water, shampoo, rinse, conditioner, rinse, soap, rinse, get out. No languishing in hot water, letting it beat down on my sore neck and back.

We even put a foaming pipe snake in it the other day. (Don't get me started on the name of that product. Yes, I'm 12 years old.)

So this evening, [livejournal.com profile] llnaughty put on some gloves, pulled the drain cover off, and used tongs, and then chopsticks to pull out the blob or hair that was in there. He made me come in and look at it, and held it up and asked "Want a hamster?" It looked just like a dead hamster. He just described pulling it out to me, complete with sound effects. I think I may barf.

He is a nasty boy, that llnaughty.

So, you appear to do the hair-washing first and then body-washing. Interesting. DH does it that way too, and I've always thought that was totally bizarre.

i'm a nasty boy? for cleaning out the shower? :-P

i need to hair-wash first to allow my anti-dandruff shampoo to work. [livejournal.com profile] erbie probably does it so she can put conditioner on and leave it on while she does the body washing.

You are nasty for tormenting poor erbie w/ the nasty dead hamster clot. Bleck!

I let the conditioner sit too, but use that time to just rejoice in the hot water! I am probably a horrible water-waster.

oh eew, "hamster clot"?!?! *shudder* that's worse than me calling it a hamster on a stick (the hair was on a chopstick at the time). i'm imaging like a hamster stuck in someone's somewhere (no not richard gere's ass) and clotting biological functions.

if you said "hamster clog" then that would have been okay, but clot!? *shudder again* ;)

i sometimes rejoice in the hot water, but i like to do that having completely washed first.

No, I rejoice in teh hot water while I'm conditioning. But then I have to wash body, because the conditioner runs down my back and leaves me all slimy, so I wash it off. Then I rejoice in the hot water some more.

Hence, why I was so disturbed by not being able to spend more than about two minutes in the shower before the water overflowed. And why I am so happy not be hamster-free, so that now I can waste water with abandon.

(Disclaimer for certain people who may take this seriously: I do not take overly long showers and waste water. I'm too conditioned by living through an 8 year drought to do that.)
